Thales Alenia Space was created on April 10, 2007 when Alcatel-Lucent transferred its space business to Thales. Owned 67% by Thales and 33% by Finmeccanica, Thales Alenia Space has a strong industrial presence in Europe with 7500 employees over 12 sites in 7 countries.

The Propulsion team has developed a wide and extensive heritage in the field of satellite propulsion, for agencies projects as well as for worldwide commercial customers.
All the skills necessary to design, manufacture, test and operate Propulsion subsystems are available, covering a wide range of Propulsion products lines: chemical monopropellant, chemical bipropellant, electric Propulsion.
Thales Alenia Space has a strong heritage in Electric Propulsion thanks to its experience on ASTRA1K, Stentor, and more recently on Alphasat launched in 2013, TAS-B Power Supply (PPU) and TAS-F Thruster Orientation Mechanism (TOM).
Thales Alenia Space is developing its new Spacebus Neo platform in the frame of Artes 14 program. This very performing and competitive platform is based on a full Electric Propulsion solution. The first application is under realization for one of the major space commercial customers: Eutelsat.

Thales Alenia Space (former Aerospatiale and Alcatel Space) has more than 30 years of experience in the space domain and has acquired an extensive knowledge of the space market and of the commercial and institutional customers, on Telecommunications, Observation, Science and Navigation domains.
TAS will bring this knowledge to the project in order to provide relevant contribution in the elaboration of the market analysis, the business plan and the EPS specifications.
Thanks to its continuous contacts with the main customers, TAS-F will contribute to the market survey all along the project, and will propose amendments to the main specifications in case a significant change of the market is detected.
